18-1-2012 All-Star Teams selected
Starting lineups for the 2012 All-Star Game have been decided according to votes given by hockey fans around the world. The fans voted the starting lineup consisting of 1 goaltender, 2 defenseman, 1 left wing, 1 center and 1 right wing for both North America All-Stars and World All-Stars. Here are the final results of the voting:

This years All-Star weekend starts Saturday February 9 with the Super Skills competition and continues on Sunday February 10 with the clash between the North America All-Stars and the World All-Stars.

9-2-2012 NHL All-Star Skill Competitions
The annual All-Star event kicked off today with the skill competitions. Team North America and Team World competed in six different races and the fans got to see their stars shine.

Team World won the puck control relay with a team of Alexander Ovechkin, Pavel Datsyuk and Evgeni Malkin.

Marian Gaborik of Team World won the fastest skater competition, beating Cam Fowler in the final.

Zdeno Chara of Team World won the hardest shot competition with a result of 96 MPH, beating Ryan Getzlaf in the final.

Sidney Crosby of Team North America won the accuracy shooting competition, beating Nicklas Lidström in the final.

Marc-André Fleury of Team North America won the goalie competition (pass&score), beating Jaroslav Halak in the final.

Team North America won the breakaway relay with a team of Sidney Crosby, Steven Stamkos and Corey Perry.

The yearly clash between Team North America and Team World will take place tomorrow.

10-2-2012 NHL All-Star Game
Team World has won the annual NHL All-Star game with a score of 13-9. Game MVP was Tomas Kaberle.

A native of Czech, Tomas Kaberle was originally drafted to the NHL by the Toronto Maple Leafs in the 8th round of the 1996 entry draft. He has appeared in 959 NHL games during his career, notching 92 goals and adding 479 assists along with 260 penalty minutes. The 33 year old defenseman has played 57 games with the Carolina Hurricanes this season, totalling 8+34=42 with 12 PIM.
